Daphna Spent her childhood both in Israel and in California, absorbing a wide range of music from the two cultures. She played her violin in the Young Israel Philharmonic and led children’s sing-alongs with her guitar, but never dreamed that one day she would write her own songs and perform them.

It wasn’t until the youngest of her three sons started preschool that Daphna finally put it all together. A computer analyst turned stay-at-home mom in the fast-paced Silicon Valley, she developed an irresistible urge to express herself through something beyond laundry and carpooling.

She started voice training on a lark and surprised herself and everyone around her with her very first original tune. After getting on stage and singing her songs for the first time, she simply couldn’t stop. Daphna now performs as a solo artist both as a singer and a violinist, as a violinist in a Bay-Area klezmer band "Klezmakers", and in a duo with Bruce Barley.
